Your Vietnam e-Visa has not arrived and your flight is getting closer. Most delays have an ordinary cause and a practical fix, but the fix depends on how many working days you have left. This guide helps you work out what is happening and what to do before you depart.
A normal e-Visa takes about 4 to 6 working days, Monday to Friday in Vietnam time. If you are running short, do not apply a second time. Speed up the existing file for $70 to $185 (service fee only), or $210 on a weekend or holiday. A pending application is not a visa, and no outcome can be guaranteed.

Why do Vietnam e-Visas get delayed?
- Photo problems. Blurry, dark or off-center photos are the most common cause.
- Name or passport mismatches. A missing middle name or one wrong digit can stall the file.
- Peak seasons. Volume rises around Tet, National Day and school holidays.
- Payment failures. A line drop or a wrong card detail can leave the application unrecorded.
- Weekend and holiday gaps. The government does not process on these days.

What if my flight is tomorrow?
- Check your inbox, spam and promotions folders in case the e-Visa has arrived.
- Verify the details against your passport: full name, passport number, date of birth and nationality.
- Work out your deadline: check-in usually closes 45 to 60 minutes before departure.
- Message us with your application code and flight time, and choose a fast tier in Vietnam working hours.
Can an airline deny boarding because of a delayed visa?
Airlines check entry documents at check-in, and rules vary by airline and route. We cannot promise what a particular airline will accept. A "processing" status is not a visa, so plan to hold the approved e-Visa before you reach the desk. If a speed-up cannot finish in time, ask the airline early about a later flight.

Fast tiers are counted in Vietnam working hours. For weekend and holiday delivery, pay by 15:00 Vietnam time to receive the visa by 18:00.
When does the clock run in my time zone?
Vietnam processes Monday to Friday, 8:00–11:30 and 13:30–18:00 (GMT+7). The table shows those sessions in your time as of October 2026.

Clock changes shift these: the UK on 25 October and the US on 1 November, after which the times read one hour earlier on those clocks. Message us your city and we convert them.
How do I avoid a delay next time?
- Apply early: at least 10 days before travel for a normal application.
- Double-check the details: name exactly as printed, passport number, date of birth, nationality, arrival date and entry point.
- Use a clear photo: natural light, plain light background, no glare.
