The standard government portal does not process applications on weekends, so a Friday evening in the US can already be Saturday in Vietnam. This guide shows US travelers how the weekend and holiday service works, the exact cutoff in each US time zone, and what to prepare before you order.
For US citizens flying on a weekend or Vietnamese public holiday, the weekend and holiday service costs $230 (single entry, government fee included; multiple entry $255). Pay by 15:00 Vietnam time to receive the e-Visa by 18:00 the same day. That is 04:00 EDT, 03:00 CDT or 01:00 PDT today, one hour earlier on the US clock after 1 November. Approval is decided by Vietnam Immigration, so it cannot be guaranteed.
Why weekends and holidays are different
The government e-Visa portal does not process on weekends or Vietnamese public holidays, so a normal or day-based application waits for the next working day. The weekend and holiday service exists for travelers who cannot wait. It covers national holidays such as Tet (Lunar New Year), National Day on 2 September and New Year's Day, whose exact dates are announced each year, so confirm your travel dates with us on WhatsApp.

US daylight time (EDT, CDT, PDT) applies until 1 November; standard time (EST, CST, PST) applies after. Vietnam's Saturday begins at 13:00 Friday Eastern, 12:00 Friday Central and 10:00 Friday Pacific during daylight time. For a Saturday arrival, order on Friday morning US time to stay well ahead of the cutoff.
Vietnam working hours for weekday packages
Hour and day packages are counted in Vietnam working hours, Monday to Friday, 8:00–11:30 and 13:30–18:00 (GMT+7). During US daylight saving, Vietnam is 11 hours ahead of Eastern, 12 ahead of Central and 14 ahead of Pacific, and one hour more after 1 November.
If you are already close to your flight
- Message us first, with your flight time, the Vietnam arrival date and the airline's check-in closing time.
- Have your passport and phone ready so you can send details and a photo at once.
- Ask the airline about rebooking in parallel. If the visa cannot finish in time, a later flight is safer than arriving without one.
- Do not rely on a pending application. Only an approved e-Visa counts at check-in.

Weekend mistakes to avoid
Missing the 15:00 cutoffPay by 15:00 Vietnam time. Convert it to your own time zone with the table above before the weekend starts.
Forgetting Friday evening is Saturday thereA Friday evening US order is already a weekend order in Vietnam, so a weekday package will not run until Monday.
Wrong arrival date or entry pointThe date is a Vietnam date, and a flight leaving on the 10th often lands on the 11th. Make sure the entry point matches the airport you land at.
Name or photo errorsA mismatched name or a blurry photo stops the clock and costs the time you paid for.
Waiting to ask for helpEvery working hour you wait narrows your options. Message first, decide second.
