Vietnam eVisa for Dutch Citizens: Checklist, Fees and Fast-Track Options
A quick-reference guide built for travellers who want the facts laid out, not a long read. Documents, fees by speed tier, and a dedicated fast-track path if you already applied on the official portal.
TL;DR
The Netherlands has no visa-free arrangement with Vietnam. Dutch passport holders need an approved eVisa before boarding -- government fee 25 USD single entry / 50 USD multiple entry, plus an optional service fee for faster-than-standard processing (3-5 business days standard, from 1.5 hours emergency). Already applied on evisa.gov.vn? Vietnam Visa Easy can fast-track that exact application for the service fee alone -- the government fee you already paid is not charged again. Jump to the fast-track module below.
Yes. The Netherlands sits outside Vietnam's visa-exemption list. EU membership does not change this -- the exemption list is a separate bilateral matter and applies to a small set of specific countries, none of which is the Netherlands.
Every Dutch passport holder needs an approved eVisa before an airline will check them in for a Vietnam-bound flight, irrespective of why they are travelling or for how long.

For Existing Applications
Already Applied on evisa.gov.vn? Fast-Track It Here
If you submitted your application and paid the government fee directly on the official site, you keep that payment -- it is not charged again. Vietnam Visa Easy can take your existing application and push it through a faster channel for the service fee only.
1
Find your registration code -- in your evisa.gov.vn confirmation email, alongside the passport number you used.
2
WhatsApp it to us with your exact flight date and time so we match the correct speed tier.
3
Get a reduced quote -- the government fee component is automatically removed since it is already paid.

Example: government fee already paid (25 USD confirmed). You need 1-Day Emergency. You pay 90 USD only -- not the full 110 USD a fresh applicant would pay.
At the airport now -- WhatsApp immediately, 1.5-Hour Ultra is the only realistic option.
Today
Flight later today -- 2.5-Hour or 5-Hour depending on remaining buffer.
1-5 days
Flight this week -- 1-Day, 2-Day, or 3-Day emergency tiers all apply.
10+ days
Plenty of time -- government portal direct, or 3-Day for document review and certainty.
Weekend trap for Dutch applicants Vietnam is 5 to 6 hours ahead of Central European Time depending on daylight saving. An application submitted Friday evening Amsterdam time may already be Saturday in Vietnam -- standard emergency tiers do not run on weekends. Use the Weekend Service instead (submit before 15:00 Vietnam time for same-day delivery between 17:00-18:00).
Notes Specific to Dutch Applicants
Schengen confusionSchengen-area free movement has no bearing on Vietnam eVisa rules. The two systems are unrelated.
Multi-stop SE Asia tripsStopping in Vietnam en route to Thailand or Cambodia? Choose multiple entry (50 USD) if returning to Vietnam.
BSN is not requiredYour Dutch citizen service number (BSN) is not part of the eVisa application -- only passport details matter.
Photo standards differDutch passport photo booths often use light grey, not pure white. Vietnam's system requires plain white specifically.
