Most urgent Vietnam visa problems for US travelers are not about speed. They are about small details that Americans get wrong on the form: the date format, the name order, the arrival date and the clock. This guide covers those traps first, then the fast options and what they cost.
US citizens need an e-Visa. Urgent packages run from 30–60 minutes ($215) to 4 days ($65), with $230 for weekends and holidays, all-in for single entry. The form uses day/month/year, your arrival date is the Vietnam date, and Vietnam's working week starts on a US Sunday evening. Speed depends on a complete, accurate application, and approval cannot be guaranteed.
Five traps that catch US travelers
Date formatThe form uses DD/MM/YYYY. To an American, 05/11/2026 looks like May 11, but on the form it means 5 November. A wrong birth date or arrival date can make the visa unusable.
Name order and middle namesCopy all given names exactly as printed on the passport data page. Missing a middle name is one of the most common reasons a file stalls.
Arrival date vs departure dateThe date you enter is the day you land in Vietnam. A flight leaving the US on the 10th often lands on the 11th or 12th.
The clockVietnam is a day ahead. The government works Monday to Friday, so a US Friday afternoon is already Saturday in Vietnam, and a US Sunday evening is Monday morning there.
Applying twiceA second application does not make the first faster and can mean paying the government fee twice. If you already applied, speed up that file instead.

Prices include the government fee. Multiple entry adds $25. Fast tiers are counted in Vietnam working hours, Monday to Friday, 8:00–11:30 and 13:30–18:00 (GMT+7).

US time zones and Vietnam's working hours
During US daylight saving, Vietnam is 11 hours ahead of Eastern, 12 ahead of Central and 14 ahead of Pacific. From 1 November the gap grows by one hour.

Vietnam's Saturday begins at 13:00 on a US Friday (Eastern, daylight time). For weekend and holiday delivery, pay by 15:00 Vietnam time (04:00 EDT, 03:00 CDT, 01:00 PDT) to receive your visa by 18:00 Vietnam time (07:00 EDT, 06:00 CDT, 04:00 PDT). Weekend orders must be placed with us, because the government portal has no weekend or urgent service.
